That song about the lost lovers and the dance hall…” \nHe stopped for a moment before his Scottish reserve reasserted itself. \n“I really liked that one.” \nA fine finger-style guitarist with a precise baritone\, Kray Van Kirk has a Ph.D. from the University of Alaska\, but he set science aside to write songs\, tell stories and summon heroes. \n“We are driven by myth and the seasons of the heart\,” he says\, “and the stories are all true. There is a dark cave inside each of us\, and monsters of all kinds lurk there\, all the more lethal for being hidden. The quest is to journey inside\, render the monsters powerless\, find whatever it is that burns at the core of your soul and bring it back into the light. Phil has recorded five CD’s and has performed with many national and international musicians\, including Lee Konitz\, Eric Alexander\, Delfeayo Marsalis\, Jim Rotondi\, Jim Snidero\, Byron Stripling\, Kendra Shank\, Evan Christopher\, John Fedchock\, Jackie Allen and Barbara Morrison. When Sarah Anderson and Paul DeHaven met and began playing together in 2004\, they had no idea just how deep the well of their musical partnership would prove to be. DESCRIPTION:Anana Kaye is a Georgian-American singer-songwriter and multidisciplinary artist based in Nashville\, Tennessee. Blending elements of Americana and alternative music\, Anana’s songs are intimate yet expansive\, driven by a husky\, arresting vocal style and a deep attention to lyric. She works in close collaboration with Irakli Gabriel\, her longtime creative partner and a Georgian-American musician and producer. \nGrowing up in a culture rich with deep musical traditions\, Kaye was profoundly influenced by the storytelling nature of Georgian music. He dropped out of college before spending the next six years pursuing his wanderlust and hitch hiking across the country with nothing but a backpack and a Martin guitar. He eventually made his way overseas\, where he slept under the stars\, traded songs for spending money and enjoyed a life typical of one who’s a drifter and bohemian. All the while\, he made it his mission to proffer the songs of the American masters\, in the process\, he found himself captivated by the full gamut of archetypical American music\, and began to refashion it to suit his own style.
